Appearance: Yellow gray or light green powder or granules.

Organoleptic: Slightly caramel-like odor.

Solubility: It is easily soluble in water (10% in warm water), but almost insoluble in  ethanol.

Character: High bioavailability, good solubility, slight iron smell and no astringency flavor.

Application: As iron nutrition enhancer, it is widely used in cereal products, dairy products, infant food, beverage, health food, etc. It also could be as coloring agent. When used for black olives, it can keep its color and texture in canning.
